Countertop Guide

    Black Quartz Countertops

Black quartz ranges from solid deep blacks to speckled and white-veined designs. Engineered quartz is made from crushed natural stone bound with resin, so color and pattern are consistent from slab to slab.

We have strategic partnerships with countertop suppliers and fabricators. Black quartz countertops are available through NLD's countertop partners, and our team can help you compare options and request a quote.

Solid, speckled and veined black quartz

Solid blacks read bold and modern. Speckled blacks add texture and can help hide crumbs and water spots. Veined blacks carry white or gold movement for a dramatic, marble-inspired look. Look at a large sample or full slab when pattern matters.

    Polished, honed and textured finishes

Polished black quartz is deep and reflective. Honed and matte finishes look softer but can show fingerprints, water marks and metal marks more readily on dark colors. Ask which finishes are offered for the exact color you like.

    Living with a black countertop

Quartz is non-porous and does not need sealing. Dark surfaces can show dust, fingerprints and dried water more than light ones, so wipe with a soft cloth and a mild soap or manufacturer-approved cleaner, and avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads. Resin can scorch or discolor from direct heat, so always use trivets.

Pairing black quartz with cabinets and tile

Black quartz pairs with white or wood cabinetry for contrast and with dark cabinetry for a moody, tonal kitchen. Bring a cabinet door and your backsplash tile to the showroom to compare them in natural light.
