Countertop Guide
White Quartz Countertops
White quartz is one of the most requested countertop looks, from quiet solid whites to marble-look slabs with grey or gold veining. Engineered quartz is made from crushed natural stone bound with resin, so color and pattern are consistent from slab to slab.
We supply quartz from Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone and MSI, with slabs to view at our Lakeside showroom and samples at Kalispell.
Solid white vs marble-look white quartz
Solid and lightly speckled whites read clean and modern and hide fewer surprises from slab to slab. Marble-look whites carry veining that imitates Calacatta or Carrara marble without marble's etching. Look at a full slab, not just a sample, when veining matters, because the pattern scale changes how seams and cutouts read.
Polished, honed and textured finishes
Polished white quartz reflects light and shows the color at its brightest. Honed and matte finishes look softer and closer to natural stone, but can show fingerprints and metal marks more readily. Ask which finishes are offered for the exact color you like, since not every design comes in every finish.
Living with a white countertop
Quartz is non-porous and does not need sealing, which makes white quartz practical in busy kitchens. Wipe up spills like coffee, wine and turmeric promptly, use a mild soap or a manufacturer-approved cleaner, and avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads. Resin can scorch or discolor from direct heat, so always use trivets.
Pairing white quartz with cabinets and tile
Warm whites pair with wood cabinetry and natural stone; cooler whites suit grey, black and painted cabinets. Bring a cabinet door and your backsplash tile to the showroom so you can compare them against full slabs in natural light.
White Quartz FAQ
Does white quartz stain?
Quartz is non-porous and resists staining well, but strongly colored spills should still be wiped up promptly. See our countertop care guide.
Does white quartz need sealing?
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous and does not need sealing. Follow the manufacturer's care guidance for cleaning.
Can I put hot pans on white quartz?
No. Quartz resin can scorch or discolor from direct heat, which shows most on light colors. Use trivets or hot pads.
