    Quartz Countertops FAQ

Quartz slab cost varies by brand, design, slab dimensions, finish, quantity, edge details, cutouts, and the independent fabricator's scope. Share your plans and material preferences to request a written materials quote.

Installed quartz countertops in the Flathead Valley typically run $65–$120 per square foot for entry to mid-tier slabs, and $120–$200+ per square foot for premium designer lines like Cambria and Silestone. Final pricing depends on slab selection, edge profile, sink cutouts, and template complexity. Stop in for a no-obligation quote.

Quartz is engineered (about 90% natural stone bound with resin) and is non-porous, so it never needs sealing and resists staining better than granite. Granite is 100% natural and offers one-of-a-kind patterns but requires periodic sealing. For busy kitchens with kids or pets, most of our clients choose quartz; for clients who want a unique natural slab, granite or quartzite are great choices.

Quartz handles everyday cooking but the resin binder can discolor under direct heat above ~300°F. Always use trivets for hot pans, slow cookers, and instant pots. If heat resistance is a top priority, ask us about quartzite or sintered stone.

From template to install is typically 2–3 weeks in the Flathead Valley. Template happens after cabinets are set; fabrication takes 7–14 days; installation is usually a single day for an average kitchen.

We work with trusted regional fabricators who template, cut, and finish your slab to spec. All install crews are vetted, insured, and experienced with the brands we carry.

Quartz is one of the most durable countertop surfaces available — it rates around 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, resists scratches from everyday knives and cookware, and won't chip under normal use. Because it's non-porous, it also resists staining from wine, coffee, and cooking oils. Cambria, Silestone, and Caesarstone all back their slabs with 10-year-to-lifetime residential warranties.

Daily care is simple: warm water with mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, bleach, and harsh solvents like acetone or oven cleaner, which can dull the resin binder over time. Quartz never needs sealing. Wipe spills promptly and always use trivets under hot pans to protect the resin from direct heat.

In-stock colors from Cambria, Silestone, Caesarstone, and MSI Q are usually available for pickup within 3–7 business days from our Columbia Falls warehouse or partner distribution. Special-order and designer colorways run 2–4 weeks. Once your slab is on hand, fabrication typically takes 7–14 days.
