Rubio Monocoat Wood Finishes

We supply Rubio Monocoat finishes and care products for hardwood floors, furniture and cabinetry, to pros and DIYers alike. We help you choose a color and put the products, sizes and quantities in a written quote. We're a materials supplier and don't install or apply finishes.

What is Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C?
Rubio Monocoat describes Oil Plus 2C as "a hardwax oil wood finish that stains and protects wood in one easy layer with molecular bonding technology." It's a two-component product. Rubio sells it as a Part A & B set and also sells each part separately.
The single-coat idea is the brand's core claim. According to Rubio Monocoat, once the oil bonds with the wood fibers, the wood does not absorb any surplus product, which makes a second layer unnecessary. Rubio also says the finish doesn't build a film, so it won't peel or flake. The manufacturer lists it as linseed-oil based, certified 0% VOC and solvent-free, with third-party certifications including GREENGUARD Gold.
Rubio positions Oil Plus 2C for hardwood flooring, furniture, tables, cabinetry and other interior wood.
Rubio Monocoat colors
Oil Plus 2C comes in dozens of standard colors, from clear and natural tones to greys, browns, whites and black, and colors can be custom-mixed. Color depends heavily on species: the same color looks different on white oak, hickory or maple. Rubio's own advice is to "make a color sample using an Oil Plus Part A sample size and wood from your project to see actual color results."

How much Oil Plus 2C do I need?
Rubio Monocoat lists coverage by container size:

How to apply Rubio Monocoat (overview)
Application follows Rubio's instructions for your project type (floor, furniture or cabinetry): prepare the raw wood, combine Part A and Part B, apply, and remove the excess exactly as the instructions describe. Rubio gives this cure guidance for floors: 24 hours to walk gently in socks, 48 hours before furniture goes back (no mats or carpets), and 5 days for full cure and liquid resistance.
