    Common Questions

    Porcelain Tile FAQ

Porcelain is denser, harder, and absorbs less water than ceramic, which makes it the better choice for floors, wet areas, outdoor patios, and high-traffic Montana entries. Ceramic is fine for wall tile in dry areas and is usually cheaper. For most Flathead Valley kitchen and bath projects, we recommend porcelain.

Yes — porcelain is one of the best surfaces for radiant heat. It conducts and retains heat efficiently, which makes it especially valuable in Montana bathrooms, mudrooms, and basement floors. We carry full coordinated lines plus the Schluter heating cable systems to install under them.

Yes — but only specific outdoor-rated porcelain (20mm thick) is suitable for Flathead Valley freeze-thaw cycles. We carry outdoor-rated lines for covered patios, BBQ areas, and pool decks. We'll help you spec the right product for your climate exposure.

Price depends on slab grade and origin, edge profile, cutouts, seams, tear-out, and install complexity, so every project is priced at your free in-home measure. Book your free in-home measure.

Yes. We're an authorized Schluter dealer and stock KERDI waterproofing, edge profiles, transition strips, linear drains, and underfloor heating systems. Everything you need for a complete porcelain install is available in one location.
